hemp oil effect

Overall, hemp seed oil consists of over 70 g per 100 g of unsaturated fatty acids. In addition to linoleic and alpha-linolenic acid, it contains around 3 g per 100 g of gamma-linolenic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid that is rare in edible oils. In addition, native hemp oil, also known as hemp seed oil, contains other valuable plant substances such as carotenoids. There are also vitamins such as tocopherols (vitamin E). This high proportion of linoleic acid and alpha-linoleic acid has a positive effect on strengthening cell membranes. Hemp oil is also known as the "queen of edible oils". It has an ideal balance between omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids of 3:1.

Hemp seed oil in the kitchen

Hemp oil can be enjoyed neat by the spoonful or used in dressings, dips and marinades. The green, nutty and tasty oil is also ideal in breakfast muesli and yoghurt with fruit. We do not recommend our hemp oil for frying but only for steaming in order to preserve the valuable essential fatty acids.
Tip: Try our hemp flour made from gently de-oiled organic hemp seed. It is suitable for baking and refining sauces, mueslis and smoothies.

Pure by the spoonful, for salads, dips and sauces. With muesli and yoghurt and for short steaming.

The shelf life of an oil depends on the variety and varies. Most single-origin oils have a shelf life of 12 months unopened.
Tip: You can freeze oils. This slows down the oxidation process and extends the shelf life. After thawing in the refrigerator, the oil regains its regular shelf life - but only if it was frozen immediately after purchase.

What is the best way to store oils?

All cooking oils should be stored protected from light. Sensitive oils that have a high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as linseed oil, our Omega DHA oils or the Omega Balance oil, should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 8 weeks.
Hemp oil should always be tightly closed and stored in a cool and dark place in order to optimally protect its valuable ingredients.
